Scholarships offered for 2018 UMEIT:USA and NWCU events
WASHINGTON -The Council of Bishops is offering scholarships for young adults (age 21-35) to attend the 2018 United Methodist Ecumenical and Interreligious Training (UMEIT:USA) and the National Workshop on Christian Unity (NWCU) this Spring.
UMEIT:USA is the annual training in the United States for United Methodists engaged in ecumenical and inter-religious ministry through the church. The NWCU is an opportunity for Christians who care about ecumenical and inter-religious ministry to learn and network.
The NWCU and UMEIT:USA occur parallel to each other once a year in a different area of the United States. The 2018 sessions will be in Silver Spring, Maryland, from April 16-19.
The Council of Bishops will offer up to six scholarships at $300 each to assist seminary students and other young adults (aged 21-35) who will be attending UMEIT:USA and NWCU for the first time.

I was having some issues with PayPal trying to charge my bank account multiple times for a payment that had already been paid and I was frustrated to tears, but Heather from the Eugene office got on the phone and was so kind and understanding. She helped me with stopping the payment so it didn't happen again, gave me options going forward to stop that from happening and sent me forms through email to help me out. Her and I were disconnected and knowing how upset I was already she called me back to finish what we were doing instead of just letting it go and making me call back in and having to start all over with another representative. Be the first to know what's going on with your account.
You can set up alerts for your NWCU accounts so that you’re the first to know whenever anything happens. You can set up text, email, or automated phone call alerts for insufficient funds, when security settings are changed or transactions over any amount you choose.
Here are the different types of alerts you can set up:
- Date Alert: You can select a type of date (birthday, anniversary, meeting, etc.), a specific calendar date, and include a message to yourself.
- Account Alert: Get alerts when your balance for an NWCU account is greater or less than an amount you choose.
- History Alert: Get an alert when a transaction on an NWCU account is greater or less than an amount you choose.
- Insufficient Funds Alert: Set up an alert for when a transaction has been declined for insufficient funds. This means you may be getting an overdraft fee.
- Transaction Alert: When a check reorder, funds transfer, or stop payment is processed, cancelled, failed, etc., you can be notified.
You can find and set up alerts in Alerts, under Preferences in the left-hand menu.
How to set up text alerts
Before you get started setting up text alerts, select Text Enrollment under Preferences in the left-hand menu:
- Click to turn the switch On, enabling text alerts.
- Enter your mobile phone number in the SMS Text Number box.
- Click in the Agree to Terms box below.
- Save.
Now you’re ready to set up text alerts! Go to Alerts (it’s right above Text Enrollment) and select the New Alert drop-down menu, then choose whichever alert you’d like to set up, following the prompts and then saving the alert.
How to opt-out of text alerts
To opt-out of Northwest Community Credit Union Text Banking, reply STOP to 226-563. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent.
Text Banking Commands
You can also use text banking by texting commands to 226-563. You’ll receive one message per query.
- BAL – list of account balances
- HIST (account nickname) - Account History
- XFER (acct nickname 1) (acct nickname 2) (amount) - transfer amount from account 1 to account 2
- HELP – website and phone # to get help on text banking
- STOP – disable text banking
- LIST – sends you a series of text messages to walk you through the above prompts.
Setting up email or phone alerts
There aren’t any extra steps to setting up phone or email alerts; just enter the phone number you’d like to receive a call or the email address, and you’re ready to get an alert.
With each new alert you set up, you’ll choose what type of delivery method you’d like: email, phone call, or text. Although you need to opt in for text alerts, you don’t have to do so for phone call or email alerts.

Scholarships offered for 2018 UMEIT:USA and NWCU events
WASHINGTON -The Council of Bishops is offering scholarships for young adults (age 21-35) to attend the 2018 United Methodist Ecumenical and Interreligious Training (UMEIT:USA) and the National Workshop on Christian Unity (NWCU) this Spring.
UMEIT:USA is the annual training in the United States for United Methodists engaged in ecumenical and inter-religious ministry through the church. The NWCU is an opportunity for Christians who care about ecumenical and inter-religious ministry to learn and network.
The NWCU and UMEIT:USA occur parallel to each other once a year in a different area of the United States. The 2018 sessions will be in Silver Spring, Maryland, from April 16-19.
The Council of Bishops will offer up to six scholarships at $300 each to assist seminary students and other young adults (aged 21-35) who will be attending UMEIT:USA and NWCU for the first time.

I was having some issues with PayPal trying to charge my bank account multiple times for a payment that had already been paid and I was frustrated to tears, but Heather from the Eugene office got on the phone and was so kind and understanding. She helped me with stopping the payment so it didn't happen again, gave me options going forward to stop that from happening and sent me forms through email to help me out. Her and I were disconnected and knowing how upset I was already she called me back to finish what we were doing instead of just letting it go and making me call back in and having to start all over with another representative.
