T-Mobile is introducing a new prepaid promotion with incentives for customers on other prepaid MVNOs to switch to Metro by T-Mobile, including waiving switching fees, a discount on an unlimited plan with 5G, and a trade-in offer for a new 5G phone. In other words, it’s doing exactly what it told regulators it wouldn’t do when it acquired Sprint a year ago.
The US wireless market is lousy with 5G phone trade-in offers and 5G plan upgrades these days, but this one stands out in its direct pitch to lure Boost Mobile customers to T-Mobile’s prepaid brand — the same customers it was ordered to sell to Dish network with the intention of setting the company up as a fourth wireless carrier to replace Sprint. It’s also what Dish warned might be coming in a plea to the Federal Communications Commission earlier this year.
The promotion also appears to specifically appeal to Boost customers on Sprint’s old CDMA network — a network T-Mobile owns and operates and announced it would be shutting down on an unusually aggressive timeline. This leaves many Boost customers in need of a device upgrade by January 1st, 2022, which T-Mobile is happily offering to facilitate if they switch to Metro:
“Get half off your unlimited line when you switch from Boost or Cricket by bringing your phone number to Metro by T-Mobile and trading in ANY working device for a limited time. Yes, any — even that old flip phone!”
The deal provides customers who switch and trade in a phone with a two-year discounted $25-per-month price on an unlimited plan with 5G.
T-Mobile’s track record of keeping its Sprint merger promises is shaky at best. It has failed to create jobs it said it would, and while it has technically fulfilled its requirements to Dish Network, like selling Boost and providing wholesale network service, it hasn’t exactly been helpful either. This new promotion is perhaps its most obvious play yet to win back Boost customers — the very customers Dish will need to retain if it’s going to becoming a full-fledged carrier.

Boost Mobile, in an effort to pull customers away from other wireless carriers, today announced a limited-time promotion. Effective immediately, Boost is offering discounted rate plans and free phones to subscribers who port their number from competing service providers.
The promotion underscores a growing interest in and demand for prepaid wireless providers, which are often more affordable and don't require credit checks. The Boost deal is similar to one that its parent company, Sprint, has offered for a few months.
According to Boost, customers who port their phone number from AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon can save up to 50 percent when compared to competitors' plans. Boost Mobile provides 10GB of high-speed data per line, per month starting at $60 for two lines. A three line plan runs $85 per month; four lines is $100 per month.
In addition to the promotional rate, Boost will give new customers up to four free phones when porting in and activating on a family plan. Subscribers can choose from the Alcatel OneTouch Elevate, Motorola Moto E, LG Tribute, LG Tribute 2, and ZTE Speed. Alternatively, Boost will discount other models by $50 each.
Both the discounted plan and free phone promos will run until April 5.

Boost Mobile is offering a way to lower your cell phone bill to just $10 a month. That’s the starting price for one of the smartphone data plans that debuted in 2020. But is Boost really worth the savings? There are some big changes that you’ll want to consider. In this article, I’ll review those changes and everything you need to know if you’re thinking about switching to Boost Mobile. Let’s get started! Boost Mobile was previously owned by Sprint and used its network, but now customers have access to T-Mobile’s network. Here’s why: Dish Network acquired Boost Mobile as part of the Sprint and T-Mobile merger. The deal gave Dish access to T-Mobile’s nationwide network for seven years. During those seven years, Dish is expected to build its own standalone 5G network. But for now, Boost Mobile customers will use T-Mobile’s network. So if you’re thinking about switching, make sure that Liberty university online library offers strong coverage where you live, work and travel. Enter your address on Boost Mobile’s website to confirm network coverage. Boost Mobile offers a number of affordable prepaid plans with both unlimited and fixed data options. Shortly after Dish acquired Boost Mobile, it launched five new plans under $50. The best deals are for light data users. There are options for $10, $15 and $25 per month. Taxes and fees are included. Here are the five prepaid plans that are available as of this writing: The $45 a month plan is unlike the others. Boost refers to this as the “Shrink It” plan because the monthly price drops to $35 after six on-time payments. All five plans include unlimited talk and text, plus a fixed amount of data. They can be stacked to create a family plan. Boost Mobile’s unlimited plans start at $50 a month for a single line. That’s competitive, but not an extraordinary deal. Pricing for the unlimited plans improves with multiple lines — like two lines for $80 a month. Boost Mobile gives customers the option to bring an existing device or purchase a boost mobile account change phone number one. If you want to keep your phone, it must be unlocked. Just enter the device ID on Boost Mobile’s website to make sure that it’s compatible with the network. For customers who want to buy a new phone, Boost has boost mobile account change phone number of options for purchase in-store and online. More than two dozen phones were for sale when I last checked Boost Mobile’s website. They included 10 phones under $100 and 12 phones over $500. Many devices were on sale. You can check the deals page for the latest offers. Boost Mobile has more options for customer service than many low-cost cell phone service providers. If you need to contact Boost Mobile by phone, the number is 1-866-402-7366. Live chat is also available. You can also search Boost’s website for a store location near you. For light data users, Boost Mobile’s $10, $15 and $25 plans are some of the cheapest around. When I first saw the plans, they reminded me of T-Mobile Connect’s prepaid plans. The table below compares the plans and pricing as of November 2020: If you’re a light data user who doesn’t mind monitoring your usage, Boost Mobile’s cheapest plans offer a great way to lower your cell phone bill. It’s hard to beat $10 a month! And since Boost now has access to T-Mobile’s network, its coverage map is looking better than ever before. If you want to explore other low-cost cell phone service providers that utilize T-Mobile’s network, check out Mint Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile and Republic Wireless.
